Unchaining the Lunatic

Men and Sex.

Lunatic

Thursday 26th January

7.30 - 9pm

St Luke's Church Centre

61 Aylsham Road Norwich NR3 2HF

with Nicholas Vesey

It was Kingsley Amis, paraphrasing Socrates, who said that “the end of the urge to have sex is an enormous relief. It has been like being chained to a lunatic for the last 50 years.”

What does it mean to have a healthy sex life? What are the signs that our sex life is unhealthy?

In this workshop, Nicholas will be outlining some of the key pointers, as well as sharing from his own life.

It will be an opportunity for us all to reflect on how we have responded to those natural urges that exist within all of us, and to see how they can be a source of celebration, rather than shame.

The emphasis will be on creating a safe and supportive environment with no compulsion to share, but with the opportunity to reflect.

There will also be a handout at the end of the evening to signpost places to go to access further help.

The event is free of charge. No need to book. Just turn up.

Soul Brothers

This event is being run by Soul Brothers, a programme for Men in and around the Norwich area.

Soul Brothers’ is a group formed out of the experience of those learning from the American Franciscan Richard Rohr’s teaching on the role of men within a spiritual context.
Men are often characterised as shying away from expressing emotions, or talking about feelings.  When this happens there is often a negative impact on our relationships and our health.  Soul Brothers aims to facilitate emotional and spiritual growth in men, leading to more fulfilled lives and emotionally mature relationships.

Everyone is welcome, and all views are respected within a context of mutual growth and encouragement.
