Tuesday group

UserstimlentonPicturestuesday

Eat, drink and be merry? It's a good start. An average of about 8-12 of us meet every week. We're not sure why it's a Tuesday, and the origins of the group are lost in the mists of time. Well, not totally lost, but we have travelled a way since then.

The meal is fairly light, usually accompanied by a little wine for those who indulge, with tea or coffee to follow. A short while ago we made the decision to discontinue dessert - not because we were getting noticeably heavier, but to give more time to the vital after-meal activities. These used to be mainly discussions, with an occasional CD or video on current key topics  (Richard Rohr got a fair hearing), but now the emphasis is firmly on prayer, with a strong interest in healing which has become exciting. We have also been including some compline-type liturgy.

Members have got to know each other extremely well, and there is a strong friendship between us, which enables us to speak freely and ask important questions. Our aim is to support and encourage each other and build faith.

We have had a variety of diners during the few years we've been in existence, but membership is now more settled, though we are open to additional people. There is however a limit, because we meet in each other's houses - mainly Tim and Dot's, but also Vicky and Jared's, and David and Bridget's. Fortunately, all are excellent cooks, and vegetarians are always catered for.
