Developing Consciousness small groups
Why small groups?
There has been a demand from people coming to the Norwich Christian Meditation Centre for small groups to develop further the ideas discussed on the Developing Consciousness course. As a result we have now set up eight groups across Norfolk.
The purpose of each group is to enable people to explore issues relating to spirituality within a supportive environment.
How do they work?
The groups will run under the same ethos as the Developing Consciousness course. They are for everyone, irrespective of background or beliefs.
We have three ground rules:
- Confidentiality: anything shared by members of the group should not be repeated outside the group.
- People are free to share personally – or refrain from sharing, there is no pressure.
- We have respect for each other's views: everyone is listened to.
We are also keen to ensure that the meetings enable all participants to ‘drink from a well that is common to all, but not created by any one person’. It is a shared experience, and we all try to respect each other’s needs.
Most groups work on a mix of discussion and various forms of meditation in order to explore.
How do I join a group?
If you want to be a part of a group, just look and see which is the nearest to you, and then contact the group leader, who will tell you when the group is meeting next.
If there is not a group near you, then contact me and I will see if we can set another up. We are willing to create as many groups as there is demand for.
