A Day in Nature for Men

Richard Rohr has pointed out on many occasions that Jesus purposely went out into Nature for 40 days and 40 nights in order to meet God.
There is a quality to time in Nature that helps us to look deeply and find insights, and build our relationship with the Divine.
That, as well as a bit of fun, is the purpose of our day out in North Norfolk for a special day out for men
on Saturday 9th July we will meet in North Norfolk for a Soul Brothers Day in Nature.

The day will include exercises for reflection and an introduction to counsel, as well as relaxed games and sitting around the fire sipping tea and sharing stories.

There will also be the chance for a sauna! There is shelter in case of rain.

We will be meeting on a field in Tuttington, near Aylsham, with all the mod cons like compost toilets, a round-house, sauna, showers, etc.

In order to keeps costs to a minimum we are asking people to bring food to share for lunch. Cups, plates, silverware, tea, coffee, etc will be provided. To cover costs we are asking for a £5-£10 donation, which you can pay on the day.

In order to keep track of numbers and who is coming please let me know you are coming by email at rob.black73@gmail.com or phone on 01603 929547 or 07775 809976. I will then give you directions.

I have a slight concern about it being "for men". Coming from a non-conformist background (though I currently have no set denominational allegiance considering myself an "atheist christian"), I have serious reservations about what I see as the second class status of 50% of the human species in the churches that particularly pride themselves on their place in the apostolic tradition or heritage (if that is a reasonable way of describing them). I find this wholly out of keeping with the way Jesus was and how he behaved. I should be more inclined to attend such a day that was open to persons who share a loyalty to Jesus. Period. (I would be just as comfortable with a title that included the word "spiritual" and did not specifically mention Jesus.)
